Spaced out!

I've been getting so excited recently planning that series of posts on writing tools, that I've been neglecting other artistic endeavours. I did manage to make a bit of progress on my latest painting, though. It's getting very close to finished.

Oh wow! I thought it looked great last time . . . but this is PHENOMENAL, Ian! No, I'm not just saying that. Honestly, that looks like something that should be in a gallery.

So jealous of your obvious talent! Bravo, good sir. Bravo.

P.S. It goes without saying I would love to see this finished. As Capt. Picard is fond of saying: Make it so! :)

Holy crap! This is freaking unbelievably stunning! I agree with David... this should be in a gallery. Do you sell your stuff? I think you could make money with this kind of talent.

Thanks David and Melissa. Yes, I intend to finish it. No, I don't sell any of my work. It's too much a part of me for that.

I like that I can share it on the internet, though, with nice folks like you. Ain't technology wonderful?

Hey Ian,
My goodness, what a wonderfully spacey painting. Very impressed :-) It's not Uranus in the background, is it?
All the best to you, Gary

Wow! That's an awesome painting!! Great work.

Thank you Jennifer, Gary, and Tana.

Gary, you weren't wearing a teensy smirk when you said "Uranus" were you? I know your sense of humour! To be fair, though, that is a reasonable and astute question. Given the colour you could be forgiven for wondering if this was, indeed, Uranus. But you'd be wrong. This is a fictional planet, Breth, from Ghosts of Innocence. The moon in the foreground is Jemiyal, where the finale of the story takes place.

Very dramatic and stunning painting. And I agree, it is amazing what technology can do for us now. :-)

I feel like a bit of a shit for not being aware that you paint (beautifully I might add) in addition to blogging, cooking and making pirate ships. A man of many talents! Thanks for stopping by my old graveyard of a blog-creepy timing or no! Gorgeous painting I'm really uber impressed :)
P.S.-I'm willing to bet that Gary maybe, probably, most likely had a smirk on his face when he wrote 'Uranus' - the word makes me smirk a bit too.

Thanks, Charmaine. Yes, it makes me wonder if we'd even recognise the world fifty years from now, with the pace of change nowadays.

No worries, Sam. You've been out of circulation for a while and I only started putting up stuff about painting recently. Glad to see you back again. You might like to check out the tabs at the top of the blog for more pictures.
