Fisticuffs on the quarterdeck

Looks like the crew are getting fractious, captain!

Well, at least it gives us a chance to see the decked stern section. Now very close to having a fully useable play structure, with only the waist deck to rib and plank. Still loads of work to do, but everything after that is really cosmetic: side planking, top masts, rigging, and (of course) we need to find a wheel.

LOL! Love the title of this entry, Ian. :)

Can't believe how quickly this is coming along. Good luck!

It doesn't feel so quick when you're in the middle of it all, believe me! I'd over-optimistically thought I'd be past this point before we went on vacation last month. It's been a long time since I did anything remotely like this, and I'd forgotten how long it takes to measure, mark, and cut each piece by hand. Anyway, it feels good to be this far along.

Looks great! I'm sure the kids are happy they can play on it no matter how far from being actually finished it really is. :)

That's the point, Jean. Make it playable and they are more than ready to fill in the rest in their imaginations. To be honest, I think the remaining touches are more for my benefit than anything ;-)
