Megan wasn't feeling too good earlier today and had to come home from school. I guess she's feeling better, because she just surprised me with a special creation - an apple swan.
It looked too good to eat, but in the end I decided that was better than letting it go all brown and yucky :)

Wow - that really looks amazing. I love apples and to have one that looks so pretty and edible to boot is really something.
Any chance on getting instructions from Megan on how to cut an apple like that - I'd love to know.
I bet it tasted better than if it was just cut in wedges - I'm so envious.
I hope you savoured every bite.
Cheers,
Jenny
Very impressive. I wouldn't know where to even start making something like that.

What a gorgeous little treat that is. She needs to do a You Tube demonstration on how to make it.
Whoa--how in the world did she do that? It looks professional, like something in a fancy gourmet restaurant. I wouldn't know whether to eat it or simply admire it, either.
Seriously impressive!
Wow. Beautiful!
Jenny, I overcame my guilt at demolishing such a fine creation and did indeed savour every bite.
Mood, if you look closely you'll see it's actually quite simple. The trick is coming up with the idea in the first place.
Delores, she got the instructions off the internet somewhere, I'll try to find out and post the link.
David, she was being very secretive in the kitchen for a while, saying she was working on a surprise. I was blown away when I saw it.
Ellie, indeed!
Wow, that is beautiful. Perhaps your daughter has a career ahead in sculpting or gourmet cooking.
That's brilliant! And it was definitely better to eat it than to let it go brown. You've got the photos to remember it's glory!
Shell, she has quite an artistic flair at times, you should see the nail painting she did for someone at Christmas.
Fairyhedgehog, that's exactly what I was thinking!
BTW - here is a link to
the instructions on YouTube.
this is so clever and creative. And fun too.
Looks gorgeous! Glad you took pics before eating it--and glad you ate it, too!
Thanks, Botanist - I just went to give it a look-see and loved it! - even put it on my reading list so I have it handy.
Mynx, I think it's clever the way the shape of the apple is used to good effect.
Guilie, I had to tkae photos to show my wife. She was out for the evening when my daughter made this.
Hi Ian ... how lovely Megan felt creative for you, even though she wasn't feeling so good. Love the idea of it .. and now you've given us the YouTube video .. I'll have a look ..
