The back cover blurb is my second stop and then the first page.

Reading your posts is starting to sway me toward possibly going this route with one of my projects. Many years ago, when snooty French labels were all you normally saw, it felt quite daring to order a Jacob's Creek :)Botanisthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12098709722475364465noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1828517374142265050.post-17868951037113863942014-06-07T15:21:32.599-07:002014-06-07T15:21:32.599-07:00I think we are all drawn in by covers even if we t...I think we are all drawn in by covers even if we think we are not. It's the same with wine bottle labels. I don't know why but I can't buy a bottle if the label isn't right! It's probably the same with a book but I often read/buy a book based on reviews.
CLICK HERE for Bazza’s fabulous Blog ‘To Discover Ice’bazzahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14794010156639774028noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1828517374142265050.post-65660722711364754422014-06-07T12:08:58.942-07:002014-06-07T12:08:58.942-07:00Alex, I am drawn in by covers too. I hardly ever read the synopsis though, I mostly go by the feel of the first page or two and ask myself if I want to spend time in the company of this voice.Botanisthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12098709722475364465noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1828517374142265050.post-84363850339393664122014-06-07T05:01:23.163-07:002014-06-07T05:01:23.163-07:00I admire those of you who tackle this on your own....I admire those of you who tackle this on your own.
The cover art is really important to get right. I'm one of those who does judge a book by its cover, and if the artwork doesn't stun me, I'll never even read the synopsis.Alex J.
