Cover progress

Following my last post on the Ashes cover art, a few people commented on the white space in the middle. Since that post, that part of the picture has been taking shape. Hopefully things are becoming clearer ...

It’s hard to believe it’s little over a week to Christmas. We put up decorations last weekend and finally mailed off cards and newsletters to friends and family overseas. No matter how early we get started on the newsletter, it always seems to end up a last minute rush.

Hope you are all looking forward to a safe and warm holiday in good company.

This is shaping up to be your best cover. I agree that white spot is distracting.

Wow! Looks great, Ian!

I hope you and your family have a fantabulous Christmas and an even better new year.

Stephen, that's the trouble with showing a work in progress, especially when you tend to work background to foreground like I do.

Alex, hope I'm able to convey some of the power and fury of what's happening.

Susan, looking forward to a few days of quiet family time. How about you?

Hi Ian - I love the new cover ... I agree with the others - it is bringing the story to life. Love the fact you can see it is obviously on its way to outer space ... you're a clever artist.

Have a great Christmas 'down the road' ... it'll be different up here - cheers Hilary

Hilary, I hope you also enjoy your Christmas in Canada!

The cover looks great so far! Love all the details in the explosion.

I've made up for your last minuteness by being more ahead of the holiday game than I've been in years. Funny how having an exchange student around gets me motivated.

Jean, I think it helps to have someone else nearby with some enthusiasm and energy. Hope you are all set for a wonderful Christmas.

Your cover is coming along. I like this much better without the white. So handy to be able to do your own cover art!

I'm about to be inundated with family for our Christmas celebrations. I love everything about the season and feel very blessed to have so much when there are so many who have nothing.

Enjoy Christmas! Happy 2018!

Hi Ian,

Your cover is coming along nicely in a most explosive fashion.

Wishing you and your loved ones a magical Christmas. Good grief, I'm eight hours closer to Christmas than you are.

Take care, eh.

Gary

Denise, I remember big family celebrations (aunts, uncles, cousins) when I was a child. I loved it! These days there's just the four of us this side of the world. Whole different dynamic, but still enjoyable.

Gary, but on the other hand we'll still be enjoying it 8 hours after you :) Take care, my friend.
